Abstract

Objective: To comparatively analyze the recovery period and evaluate the efficacy of rehabilitation measures in women following postpartum hemorrhage and hemostasis via Hayman and B-Lynch compression suturing.

Material and methods. This prospective study included 84 patients who experienced postpartum hemorrhage. The women were divided into two groups: Group 1 consisted of 32 patients managed with the B-Lynch suture, and Group 2 comprised 52 patients managed with the Hayman suture. Follow-up evaluations included ultrasound, office hysteroscopy, and hormonal profile assessments at 1, 3, and 6 months.

Results. Ultrasonography revealed faster uterine involution in Group 2, with a cavity size of 12.9±0.9 mm at days 3–5 versus 16.5±0.8 mm in Group 1 (p=0.002). Endometrial thickness in Group 2 significantly exceeded that of Group 1 at 1 month (3.6±0.3 versus 2.1±0.4 mm; p=0.002), and at 3 months (6.1±0.4 versus 4.5±0.5 mm; p=0.012). Hysteroscopy confirmed the complete absence of intrauterine adhesions in Group 2, whereas Asherman’s syndrome was noted in 6 (18.75%) Group 1 patients (p=0.002).

Conclusion. The standard postpartum rehabilitation regimen demonstrates significantly higher efficacy in women following the Hayman suture compared to the B-Lynch suture. The less invasive nature of the Hayman technique accelerates uterine involution while promoting earlier endometrial regeneration and menstrual cycle restoration.
